    HiWi-Stelle am Fachgebiet SLA

    Transfer von Textdateien in LaTex-Layout

    Im Rahmen eines Buchprojektes wird eine Stelle für eine/n Hilfsassistenten/in angeboten. Die wesentliche Aufgabe bei dieser Tätigkeit besteht im Transfer vorhandener Textdateien in ein vorgegebenes LaTex-Layout und Arbeiten am Layout von Bildern. Kenntnisse in LaTex sind Voraussetzung für diese Tätigkeit. Nach entsprechender Einarbeitung besteht die Möglichkeit die Arbeiten auch ortsungebunden auszuführen.

    Instability of advancing contact lines and liquid film breakup in rivulets

    On 8 February 2019 Anne Gosset (University of A Coruña) will hold a guest talk on the modeling of dewetting phenomena in liquid films subject to body or shear forces, resulting in a fingering of the contact line and subsequent formation of rivulets. These rivulets can affect the performance of systems such as anti-icing of aircraft.

    For his work on ice accretion due to supercooled water drops, Markus Schremb (Institute for Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics) has been awared the gold medal of this year's ERCOFTAC da Vinci Competition.

    After the great success of four previous Short Courses on Atomization and Sprays, a fifth edition will be held from 25-28 February 2019 at the TU Darmstadt. The course presents the current understanding and state-of-the-art of atomization fundamentals, their realization in atomizer systems and their application in a wide variety of engineering branches, including spray drying, spray coating, spray cooling, fuel injection, etc.

    Alternative access to Elsevier journals

    Institutional access to articles published after 31 Dec 2017 no longer possilbe

    The institutional access for members of the TU Darmstadt to articles in Elsevier journals published after 31 December 2017 is no longer possible. The ULB has established an „Elsevier Service Group“ which will procure scientific papers from Elsevier formerly available in full text on alternative ways (interlibrary loan, commercial document delivery services, open access publications).

    The TU Darmstadt will present a spray characterization device at ACHEMA 2018, the leading show for the process industries. The “SprayPatternator” has been developed at the Institute for Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics and is based on capacitive level measurement.
