Aim:

The aim is to learn the hydrodynamics associated with the Emerging Technologies: capillarity driven flows, micro-nano physics and flows, flow control.

Topics:

  • Surface tension, capillary flows: physics, hydrodynamics, applications.
  • Wettability: contact angle, film spreading.
  • Films on a wall: theory, examples, dip coating, spin coating black nano- films.
  • Black, nano-films: molecules-surface interactions, disjoining pressure.
  • Hydrodynamic stability, waves, breakup.
  • MEMS flows. Active flow control.
