Prof. Cameron Tropea appointed as member of the Wissenschaftsrat

Three-year membership

On the joint proposal of the German Research Foundation, the Max Planck Society, the German Rectors' Conference, the Helmholtz Association of National Research Centres, the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and the Leibniz Association, five new scientists have been appointed by the Federal President as members of the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat). Among them is Prof. Cameron Tropea (Institute for Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics).

The following scientists have been appointed for three years as new members of the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat):

  • Dr. Karin Jacobs, Professorin für Experimentalphysik an der Universität des Saarlandes
  • Dr. med. Michael Roden, Professor für Innere Medizin, Endokrinologie und Stoffwechselkrankheiten der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (HHU), Direktor der Klinik für Endokrinologie und Diabetologie am Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf, Vorstand des Deutschen Diabetes-­Zentrums, Leibniz-Zentrum für Diabetes-Forschung an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf
  • Manfred Strecker, PhD, Professor für Allgemeine Geologie an der Universität Potsdam
  • Dr.-Ing. Cameron Tropea, Professor für Strömungslehre und Aerodynamik an der Technischen Universität Darmstadt
  • Dr. Brigitte Unger, Universitätsprofessorin für Public Sector Economics an der Utrecht University School of Economics (NL)
